Frequently Asked Questions

Southend Pharmacy currently has a 72 Hour turnaround time!

We use B6 to combat the side effect of nausea that the Semaglutide can cause. B12 is also an

option, however we find the B6 is working well so decided to stick to it. Some of the

formulations with B12 seem to lack the amount needed to increase energy in patents. Either

way, we have success with this formulation so have no reason to change it.

So far, patients have shown great success with both formulations, injection and sublingual

suspension. The feedback has been very positive and patients are excited to reach their desired

weight goals while being monitored by a licensed physician.

Absolutely not. We only use the pure Semaglutide base that is FDA approved. We do not use

any salt forms of Semaglutide.

We have already started working on making Tirzepatide for patients to help with weight loss,

peptides, and are certainly excited to make more products, specifically those used by your

clinic. In the interest of patient care, if you need a specific compound made and know the

specific strength, please talk to us directly so we can look into that and give you a fair price

along with a turnaround time. Let’s create a reliable and safe team for our patients.

We are working on getting licensed in all 50 states as soon as possible. Let us know which state

you are in and we can contact you as soon as we are able to ship to your state. If we are licensed

in your state, we can start filling your Semaglutide or Tirzepatide prescriptions immediately without delay.

Southend Pharmacy does not provide office-use compounded products as we are designated by the

FDA as a 503a pharmacy, which require patient-specific prescriptions before dispensing compounds.

Don’t worry – our turn-around times are under 72 hours and we can still ship to clinics for patient use!

– Sterility Reports

– Potency Reports

– Certificate of Analysis

When choosing a pharmacy to partner with it’s important to confirm product AND process integrity measures are in place and are independently verified to ensure that providers and patients are receiving a safe and effective product.

Below are some of the top questions providers ask when reviewing this data:

Why are Sterility tests important?

Compound pharmacies must test sterile products to ensure their safety and efficacy. This process verifies that the compounded medications meet quality standards, reducing the risk of contamination or incorrect dosages. By doing so, patients receive medications that are reliable and tailored to their needs, enhancing treatment outcomes. Providers can trust the consistency and accuracy of compounded drugs, promoting confidence in patient care. Overall, reality testing of sterile products by compound pharmacies safeguards patient health and fosters trust between healthcare professionals and patients.

Why are potency tests important?

Potency testing in general but ESPECIALLY for weight loss products is crucial to ensure patients achieve desired results. If the potency is lower than required, patients may not lose as much weight as expected, potentially leading to dissatisfaction and mistrust in their healthcare provider and pharmacy. Patients might seek alternative providers with reliable potency-tested products, impacting provider-patient relationships and continuity of care. Thus, conducting potency tests helps maintain patient satisfaction, trust, and retention, benefiting both patients and providers in the long run.

What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?

A Certificate of Analysis is a document provided by the manufacturer to ensure the quality and authenticity of a product. In the context of pharmaceuticals like semaglutide and tirzepatide, it serves as a verification that the medication is genuine and complies with all relevant regulations and standards. The COA is typically obtained from the manufacturer and is a crucial part of quality assurance.

Why is a COA Important?

COAs are essential because they provide assurance to healthcare providers and patients that the medication is what it claims to be and that it meets safety and quality standards. This is especially important in the case of medications like semaglutide, where concerns have arisen about counterfeit or impure products in the market. By obtaining and sharing COAs, healthcare providers can demonstrate their commitment to ensuring the purity and safety of the products they provide. COAs offer verification and trust in the pharmaceutical supply chain. They show that the pharmacy only sources medications from manufacturers registered with the FDA and adhering to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Additionally, the COA provides specific information about the product’s composition, purity, and expiration date, giving providers and patients confidence in the medication’s quality.

General FAQ

FDA approved brand drugs with semaglutide are currently in drug shortage. In situations like this, pharmacies are legally able to compound them. To the best of our knowledge, as long as semaglutide sodium or semaglutide acetate are not utilized, this practice is common and legal. https://www.drugtopics.com/view/pharmacy-compounders-defend-semaglutide-compounding-amid-continued-shortages

The pharmacy needs to speak with the patient to verify allergies, shipping information and credit card information (when applicable) before we can process and ship the medication. Shipments are sent Monday through Thursday, depending on the timing of when the prescription was received as well as patient responsiveness.

Syringes and alcohol pads/swabs for sterilization are included.

No, our compounded semaglutide will come in a vial and can’t be put into auto-injectors.

GastroGuard from Woven was formulated exclusively for patients on GLP-1 medications to cover bloating, constipation, fatigue, nausea, and acid reflux. Rather than having to buy multiple supplements and take 12+ pills to minimize side effects and maximize weight loss, GastroGuard will cover all your bases and save you some money! GLP Ignite from Woven was meticulously crafted to mimic and amplify the effects of GLP-1. With a potent blend of ingredients, it’s designed to accelerate metabolic activity, promote fat loss, and ensure you’re operating at peak performance.

Unfortunately, we do not have the capability to provide this service. However, we do offer the option to securely store a credit card on file for clinics and patients. The card will be charged for each prescription dispensed. For established clinics, there is the possibility to set up an Accounts Receivable account with our pharmacy, allowing them to bill for prescriptions on a monthly basis. Monthly statements will be mailed out, and receipts will be included with each shipment.

In accordance with regulations set by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, we are required to contact the patient directly to verify any allergies they may have. We also inform the patient that the medication will be billed and shipped to the clinic, and any payment owed (if applicable) will be managed by the clinic.

Unfortunately, rush orders for compounding injectable medications are not feasible due to their specific nature. Our pharmacy receives a high volume of orders daily, and the process of accurately preparing, labeling, and shipping medications requires sufficient time. We want to assure you that our dedicated pharmacy teams strive to work as efficiently as possible to fulfill all orders promptly.

Injectable medications such as semaglutide require temperature control, and we cannot take the risk of packages being exposed to high temperatures in trucks or warehouses over the weekend. Many doctors offices and clinics are closed on the weekend. Also, we utilize a reliable next-day courier service to ship to as many locations as possible please, but unfortunately our courier does not offer weekend delivery and there are certain areas they do not service. We ship with UPS to those areas, and they too don’t deliver on the weekend. To ensure the medication’s integrity, we use special packaging that includes coolers. It is crucial for clinic staff and patients to be aware that immediate refrigeration of the medication is of utmost importance.

We utilize B6 to assist patients in managing the side effect nausea commonly caused by Semaglutide. This approach helps improve compliance and overall treatment experience.

This compound comes in raspberry or chocolate flavors.
